Welcome to CIA's treasure trove of photos: good, bad,
and ugly. It's a nifty searchable database; use either the search form
below or one of the predefined photo sets carefully handcrafted for your
enjoyment. :-)
Have CIA photos of your own you want to share? There
is a snazzy upload option, or if you'd
prefer, email them to our webmaster.
If you don't have digital copies, again email the webmaster
to arrange for loaning the photos to us long enough to scan.
We prefer hi-res images (300 pixels / inch) in JPEG format; we automatically
generate thumbnails and web-size images, while maintaining the high resolution
image for printing. However, we'll take anything you have. :-) If you
could also include at least a list of people and buggies in the photo
(plus a caption, event, photographer, and/or date it was taken too, if
you're inspired), it would be of great help to us.

"By Year of Raceday" means "2000"
is comprised of Fall 1999 and Spring 2000. Photos
labelled with only a year will be included in two years
(e.g. 1973 could be Raceday '73 or '74).
Years in italics don't have any photos yet.
"DNR" denotes a year that CIA did not race. |

Here are some user-defined collections of photos in the database; there may be
a theme or a collection may be entirely random. As a note, the person who
created the collection did not necessarily take or upload the photos.
Interested in building a collection yourself?
Go for it!

Want to check out what's been added since you last checked out our archives? You've come to the
right place. :) Note that the initial upload of around 150 photos occurred on January 1st,
2002.

We have a number of older (and some newer) photos where we
couldn't identify everyone (they're Missing In Photograph! A fate worse than death!).
Click here if you'd like to help us clear
up these mysteries. Please email our
webmaster with any updated information you have!

We maintain a count of how many times people show up in
our photo archive here for kicks.

| Pressing "Submit Photo" will take you to a form to
fill in what you know about the photo. Note that nothing will appear to
happen while your browser uploads the file (which could take quite a while,
depending on the size of the photo or archive and the speed of your connection);
please have patience! No photos greater than 12 MB, and no archives greater than
500 MB, please. Thanks! |

Want to upload lots of photos at once? Compress them into an archive
(.zip on Windows machines, .tar.gz on Unix/Linux machines - sorry, no .sit
or .hqx support, as they are proprietary formats), and upload the archive. We'll decompress it and present
each photo in sequence so you can give us info about it (you can skip individual photos
if you accidentally include any). No archives larger than 500 MB, please.

We can use a whole bunch of formats, including
JPEG, GIF, and PNG image
files, but in the interests of consistency, we prefer JPEG's at one of the
higher-quality encoding levels. If you have it, a 300 dpi image would be
great, so the photo can be printed out by those who want to (we automatically
generate smaller versions for display on the web). A 300 dpi scan of a standard
photograph will be in the neighborhood of 800 KB. No photos of size greater than
12 MB, please.
