The Carnegie Involvement Association is an independent social organization at Carnegie
Mellon University. CIA's primary focus is Sweepstakes (aka Buggy; click
here for an explanation of what the heck buggy is, besides a lot of
fun). Although we also participate in intramural sports and hold regular
social events, our common interest and desire is capturing another trophy.
Within CIA, there are four main specialties: drivers, pushers, mechanics, and support personnel.
All are equally important to a successful buggy team, and all four groups
must work closely with one another to become the finely tuned machine of
an elite buggy team.

Any student at CMU can be a member of CIA. Our diversified
roster has included people with majors from engineering to music. We are
a close group bonded by the desire to compete while having fun in the
process. Since each year we lose many seniors, we are always looking for
people interested in becoming pushers, drivers, mechanics, support crew, or anyone who
wants to have a good time and be involved in campus events!
